Haha, to each their own I guess. I wasn’t seriously suggesting you review the game a third time. I really like the new mode though, especially the score attack style focus on skill shots and combo building. I think it complements the main game very nicely when you just want to shoot a lot of stuff with arrows and not worry about movement and things attacking you.

I haven’t played Elven Assassin, but Siege of Heaven is incredibly similar to the archery minigame from Valve’s “The Lab”. I’d go as far as to say derivative, but it’s also fleshed out in smart ways that fit with the progression in the main game. I’m surprised that someone who seemingly enjoyed the mechanics of the base game bounced off this so hard!

In reply to John Cruddas. Hate to say this, but no,m. We weren’t at all impressed with the Siege of Heaven DLC, and while we’re sure it might appeal to some people, we don’t really feel it adds anything to the game other than an optional gameplay mode that we pretend doesn’t exist! Having said that, IF that mode gets multiplayer, maybe it’ll be fun. In fact, Doc Neale, Who reviewed and re-reviewed In Death: Unchained likens this mode to Elven Assassin, and he’s no fan of that game at all.

Uh oh! The “Seige of Heaven” update is really fantastic. Good enough that it could have been a stand-alone game in its own right, imo. Time for a “three-view” perhaps?

So over hyped was this that I had to try it on the Quest 2. While it’s fairly satisfying firing off headshots from afar. The game feels very clinical and unfinished in parts, mainly due to the sound design or lack of it. Glitching through walls etc. After trying a few runs and dying at the abomination I can’t muster up the effort to give it another try. 7/10 from me.

In reply to Sebastian Kurz. Since release, Superbright have actually been working very hard, and we’re seeing almost all the issues resolved with the latest updates! We’re absolutely planning on updating this review and reconsidering the scores :)

With the latest updates that the game got, I believe the audio issue that is being complained about here is resolved.

In general I like the review, but the criticism is too harsh for me to more minor aspects.
Please dear reviewer post those points directly to the devs, and I am pretty sure that there can be something done about it. I am pretty sure they would be interested and maybe are not aware of the issues you mentioned.
(I also cannot see it to be unfinished or early access as it is highly polished with much effort put in)
